Creating the conditions for organisational change in Scotland

Open Access
|Dec 2016

Abstract

The Technology Enabled Care Programme in Scotland is focusing on expanding and scaling up the use of TEC to improve outcomes for people and achieve better value for money. Digital technology offers new opportunities for transforming the outcomes and experience of citizens – and of supporting those who care for them. The National Technology Enabled Care Delivery Plan promotes the importance of prevention and of new models in care in designing sustainable, high quality health and care.

Additional funding and support is available to facilitate local developments and a national programme is helping to create the conditions for organizational change across our health and social services.

Scotland has applied the Momentum Blueprint ETHEL Critical Success Factors (http://telemedicine-momentum.eu) to assess readiness for mainstreaming TEC and the presentation will draw on these findings and some key examples from local areas .
