A health literacy programme premised on cultural competency with co-design of a resource lead to empowerment of whānau, hapū and Iwi, in subsequent health interactions.

The programme used the skillset of various pharmacist scopes of practice and led to quantitative and qualitative data collection demonstrating significant benefit.

Four main Hui were held with community input into the programme determining format and application. Parallel engagement with primary care ensured outcomes were optimized.
