StrucPy.RCFA- Object-Oriented Python Package for Structural Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Frames

Abstract

StrucPy.RCFA is an open-source object-oriented Python package, capable of performing structural analysis on reinforced concrete (RC) members and 2D/3D reinforced concrete frames. With the increasing necessity of skill development among young engineers in developing countries, StrucPy.RCFA provides a prodigious open-source solution to civil engineering students and researchers. Students can visualize two- and three-dimensional reinforced concrete frame behaviour with a few simple lines of code without depending upon any commercial software. This package provides a simple solution to the laborious task of input without extensive programming to help users from non-programming backgrounds. This package provides a range of features, including the auto-generation of frames and floors. The package has the potential to assist reinforced concrete design optimization to be more practicable by providing complete control over the analysis data and to provide an interactive learning experience to structural engineering students to achieve sustainable development goal 4 (SDG4) of equal access to quality education.
